LawnWorks Lawn Care, formerly LawnWorks of Joliet, is a family-owned lawn care company based in Crest Hill, Illinois, United States.[1] It has served Joliet and the southwest suburbs of Chicago since 1988,[2] providing lawn fertilization, weed control, liquid aeration, disease and grub control, overseeding, mosquito control and lawn pest control.[1]
History
The company has operated since 1988 as a family-owned business serving Joliet and the surrounding southwest suburbs.[2][1]
In February 2026 the company changed its name from LawnWorks of Joliet to LawnWorks Lawn Care and introduced a new logo, describing the change as reflecting a service area that extends well beyond Joliet.[1] In March 2026 it completed the rebrand with a new website at lawnworkslawncare.com, offering information on its service programs and resources on lawn health.[3]
In August 2026 LawnWorks Lawn Care announced the expansion of its lawn care services to Naperville, Illinois.[4]
Services
LawnWorks Lawn Care sells annual lawn care programs in three tiers: Basic Works, Preferred Works and Complete Works. All three include fertilization with controlled-release granular fertilizer, pre-emergent weed control and treatments for hard-to-control weeds; Preferred Works adds insect and grub prevention, and Complete Works adds liquid aeration and soil conditioner applications.[5]
Other services include overseeding, garden bed weed management, lawn disease control, perimeter pest control and mole and vole control.[6][1]
Mosquito control
In May 2026 the company launched a mosquito control program for Illinois communities. The program combines treatments that kill adult mosquitoes on contact with residual barrier treatments that continue to suppress mosquitoes for weeks, and technicians inspect each property for standing water, dense vegetation and shaded resting areas. Customers can choose seasonal programs or one-time treatments for events.[7] The service is sold as Mosquito Works.[6]
Lawn disease prevention
In July 2026 the company published guidance on preventing common Illinois lawn diseases, including dollar spot, red thread, leaf spot and brown patch. It attributes most lawn disease to incorrect watering, dull mower blades and poor thatch management, and recommends deep, infrequent watering in the early morning, a mowing height of at least 3 inches and regular aeration. The company says it trains its technicians to spot early signs of disease and corrects maintenance problems before considering fungicide applications.[8]
Customer programs
In April 2026 LawnWorks Lawn Care expanded its discount programs for active and retired military members and senior citizens, applying them across all three lawn care programs.[5] The company is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.[5][9]
